Dr Datar is well known for managing high risk pregnancies, complex gynaecological surgeries. Trained from prestigious KEM hospital, Wadia hospital and JJ hospital, Dr Datar held senior positions at R N Cooper Hospital, Nanavati Hospital. At Cooper hospital, as the head of the unit, he taught post graduate resident doctors.
Dr Datar has received many fellowships and awards from international organizations for exemplary work in the field of women’s health.” Common wealth professional fellowship” from UK government, “Austrian American foundation fellowship” from Austria, “ Mehman E Watan” from Sindh Government of Pakistan are few of them. He received two gold medals in his academic career.
Dr Datar has often shown exemplary commitment towards his patients even going beyond his professional duty. He is a well known health rights activist in the country. Dr Datar was interviewed by Mr Aamir Khan in the famous show “Satyamev Jayate”.
Dr Datar is particularly known for managing high risk pregnancies and complex gynaecological conditions related to fibroids, ovarian cysts, cancers, prolapse, laparoscopic surgeries and vaginal surgeries. He strongly believes in educating patients and considers them as “partners in decision making” by empowering them with information. His friendly nature and ever smiling persona puts patients at ease.
